Rachel is The Collegiate Pool Facilitator and her dedication and expertise make her an invaluable asset to our swimming program. With over 20 years of experience in the Collegiate Pool learn-to-swim program, she is committed to providing a quality program that caters to swimmers at every level, from beginners to seniors. Rachel's coaching experience at the Australian national level has resulted in numerous swimmers competing at the final level and winning Age National medals. When she's not on the pool deck, Rachel loves spending quality time with her family, enjoying the beach, and taking leisurely walks.
Sophie is a former swimmer, whose passion for swimming has evolved into a love of teaching and coaching. Sophie enjoys playing AFL and is studying primary education at university. When swimming she excelled in butterfly and Individual Medley events. She is a national medalist, state record holder and was awarded with the swimmer of the year award multiple times.
Sebastian is passionate about sport, including swimming, and is studying Exercise & Physiology at university. Sebastian enjoys the opportunity to connect with kids and help them develop their skills. In his spare time Sebastian enjoys playing cricket and AFL.
Sophie previously swam with the HC swim club and has returned to collegiate to share her passion and knowledge of swimming to others. In her free time she loves to play hockey and AFL.
Grace is an enthusiastic swim teacher. Grace enjoys travelling with friends and keeping active.
Harry has over 20 years experience in the aquatic industry. He is a former water polo player, having represented Queensland in the sport. He has worked with swimmers from the age of three years through to national level swimmers. In his spare time, Harry enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.
Sarah is a former competitive swimmer who trained with HC Swim Club for a number of years. She enjoys working with swimmers of all ages to develop their skills and confidence in the pool. In her spare time Sarah participates in various other sports including soccer.
Liesl is passionate about surf lifesaving. As well as being a swim teacher Liesl is also a teacher assistant and enjoys working with children.
Sienna is a former competitive swimmer with HC Swim Club, who has continued to share her love of the sport through teaching. Sienna is currently studying medicine and in her free time enjoys remaining active, travelling and going bushwalking.
Ben is a competitive swimmer, training with the HC swim club and competing interstate in Victoria. He teaches a variety of classes during the week including our popular adolescent learn to swim classes. Ben enjoys developing his swimming and teaching skills, as well as surfing in his free time.
Lara is a competitive swimmer, having recently competed at the Victorian Age Championships. She loves getting to share her knowledge and passion for swimming with others. Outside of the pool, Lara enjoys hanging out with friends. She is studying at school and is hoping to study physiotherapy in university.
Rosie has recently returned to the Collegiate Pool, having trained previously with HC Swim Club, as a learn to swim teacher. She enjoys getting to pass on the skills she has learnt through swimming to others. In addition to this, Rosie is a competitive diver, having represented Tasmania a number of times.
Jessalyn is a high level swimmer having won medals at the New Zealand Championships and competing at a national level. She enjoys travelling, having recently travelled South East Asia and is studying nursing at university.
Ella is a swimmer currently at HC Swim Club and has been competing for over eight years. While she currently only does relief swim teaching, Ella aspires to create a safe and fun learning environment for all her students. She is currently in Year 12 and plans to study Actuarial Studies at University after she graduates.
Harley enjoys teaching learn to swim and getting to connect with the children, watching their skills develop. Outside of the pool Harley enjoys playing hockey.
Tess has been a competitive swimmer training with HC Swim Club for 12 years and competing at a national level. She enjoys working with swimmers to achieve their goals, whatever they may be. During the week you will normally see Tess working at the Pool Office.
Sam has recently relocated from Victoria bringing with him a wealth of experience. Sam is a former member of the Australian swim team and is an Advanced Coach. Sam works closely with Rachel and our learn to swim staff to assist with the transition from learn to swim to squad swimming. In his free time Sam enjoys going to the gym and has an extensive collection of vinyl records.
Jimmy is a passionate swimming teacher with over six years experience. He has a love of teaching students the fundamentals to swimming and leaving them with survival skills that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. In his free time Jimmy enjoys his time outdoors doing a range of different activities.
Mieke worked as a swimming instructor for 7 years while completing her university degree. After that, she spent 8 years as a counselor. She has two children and enjoys arts and crafts.
