Rachel is The Collegiate Pool Facilitator and her dedication and expertise make her an invaluable asset to our swimming program. With over 20 years of experience in the Collegiate Pool learn-to-swim program, she is committed to providing a quality program that caters to swimmers at every level, from beginners to seniors. Rachel's coaching experience at the Australian national level has resulted in numerous swimmers competing at the final level and winning Age National medals. When she's not on the pool deck, Rachel loves spending quality time with her family, enjoying the beach, and taking leisurely walks.
Sophie previously swam with the HC swim club and has returned to collegiate to share her passion and knowledge of swimming to others. In her free time she loves to play hockey and AFL.
Grace is an enthusiastic swim teacher. Grace enjoys travelling with friends and keeping active.
Harry has over 20 years experience in the aquatic industry. He is a former water polo player, having represented Queensland in the sport. He has worked with swimmers from the age of three years through to national level swimmers. In his spare time, Harry enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.
Liesl is passionate about surf lifesaving. As well as being a swim teacher Liesl is also a teacher assistant and enjoys working with children.
Sienna is a former competitive swimmer with HC Swim Club, who has continued to share her love of the sport through teaching. Sienna is currently studying medicine and in her free time enjoys remaining active, travelling and going bushwalking.
Ben is a competitive swimmer, training with the HC swim club and competing interstate in Victoria. He teaches a variety of classes during the week including our popular adolescent learn to swim classes. Ben enjoys developing his swimming and teaching skills, as well as surfing in his free time.
Jessalyn is a high level swimmer having won medals at the New Zealand Championships and competing at a national level. She enjoys travelling, having recently travelled South East Asia and is studying nursing at university.
Tess has been a competitive swimmer training with HC Swim Club for 12 years and competing at a national level. She enjoys working with swimmers to achieve their goals, whatever they may be. During the week you will normally see Tess working at the Pool Office.
Sam has recently relocated from Victoria bringing with him a wealth of experience. Sam is a former member of the Australian swim team and is an Advanced Coach. Sam works closely with Rachel and our learn to swim staff to assist with the transition from learn to swim to squad swimming. In his free time Sam enjoys going to the gym and has an extensive collection of vinyl records.
Abbey loves the water and is passionate about teaching swimming, in her spare time enjoys teaching dancing and playing netball.
Nilu is a competitive swimmer in the HC Swim Club and has competed in the Victorian State Championships, making a final in the 2025 Victorian Age Championships. Her favourite stroke is breaststroke. She is passionate about teaching Learn to Swim and sharing her knowledge of swimming with others.
I am a competitive swimmer who has competed at both state and interstate level. I have also been involved in State Surf Lifesaving, and I am a passionate open water swimmer. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn the lifelong skill of swimming. Assisting young children in developing their swimming abilities is particularly rewarding, and I take pride in supporting them with patience, enthusiasm and fun. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my Bulldog and travelling.
Justine has been in the aquatic sector for over 20 + years working in a variety of roles interstate . Recently moved to Tasmania and enjoying the outdoors and pace of life . Justine is passionate about seeing children progress and become confident in the aquatic environment and learning a valuable life skill. Nothing makes Justine happier than seeing her students improvements and being safe around water.
Fi has 13 years of experience working in the aquatic environment, first becoming a qualified swim teacher at 16. She then went on to teach for several years in Geelong before relocating to Tasmania. Fi brings a calm, playful approach to the pool, helping children build water confidence while having fun. She loves seeing kids progress — not just in swimming, but in their confidence and independence more broadly. Fi enjoys long walks in nature with her dog, loves to cook, and spending time with friends.
